Huaojozu This over DHD in Daniel Jul 7, 2007
If you are playing a Daniel-based deck and you want to fix your missions, I see no reason for running DHD over Hank Landry. Especially usefull in Daniel Jackson (Adventurer) decks that can both provide the power needed and use the skills, not to mention fixing the top mission.

Then again, there are better ways to choose your missions, such as Walter Harriman (Technician) or Dialing Computer, along with a very underrated Bauer (NID Patsy), so you should really consider Hank Landry in decks that can make use of his skills.

So, if you have the power to pay 2 power to place a DHD, and 4 power to find a mission, wouldn't you rather make a one time pay of 5 power to place a character, then search for a mission whenever you want, basically for free? I see the discard a card cost as a benefit, actually. A lot of time there's a card in my hand I feel I could replace for something better.

Another added benefit with Hank Landry, if he's assigned to a mission that you're failing, well, just stop Hank Landry, discard a card, and fix the next mission. He's also susceptible to a Transport Rings Feel free to fix both missions this turn.

The one downside is that characters, at the moment, seem to be easier to get rid of than gears. With the current playset, there's more cards that destroy characters and more people play those cards. So it may very well be easier to use the DHD.
